Separation Systems | Engineering Feature

This project provided an intimate look at the critical engineering behind Rocket Lab’s separation systems—the essential mechanisms that ensure payloads successfully deploy in orbit. As a one-man band production, I managed all aspects of the project, including direction, cinematography, and post-production.

To capture the production floor, I wanted to balance a clean, industrial aesthetic with a cinematic feel. By augmenting the existing house lighting with a single-source setup and a large overhead soft box, I was able to create soft, directional light that emphasized the intricate details of the hardware while maintaining the authentic, high-stakes atmosphere of the facility.
