Why Hermeus?

The Hermeus story is about reclaiming an ambition America set aside. We built the fastest aircraft in history — the SR-71, the X-15 — and then we stopped pushing. The programs ended, the institutional knowledge faded, and for decades no one tried to go further. The rest of the world watched and started catching up on hypersonic technology — particularly in the weapons and defense space. Hermeus is the company that decided the next chapter of that story should be American, and that it shouldn't take decades to write. A small team moving faster than the industry said was possible. The story isn't just about speed — it's about urgency. A group of people who believe the window is closing and are working like it. That's the human story. That's a story worth telling.
