HASTE – Hypersonic Accelerator Suborbital Test Electron
Overview In this documentary-style short, I directed and produced an in-depth look at Rocket Lab’s HASTE program. My goal was to distill complex aerospace engineering challenges, specifically the critical need for rapid, affordable, and frequent hypersonic testing—into a compelling narrative for both industry experts and the general public.
My Role: Producer, Director, Cinematographer, & Editor As the internal content producer, I led this project from conception to final export, acting as a one-man production team. Key responsibilities included:
Narrative Development: I wrote the VO script, meticulously structuring the story to bridge the gap between geopolitical defense requirements and Rocket Lab's technical solutions.
Directing & Interviews: I directed on-camera talent to articulate the technical advantages of the HASTE platform, ensuring their insights remained grounded and impactful.
Cinematography: I captured the footage, balancing high-stakes technical environment visuals with cinematic storytelling techniques to maintain high production values.
Editorial: Through precise pacing and sound design, I crafted the final edit to showcase how Rocket Lab is revolutionizing the industry by moving from one launch per year to multiple launches a week.
Key Takeaway This project highlights my ability to synthesize highly technical, sensitive defense-related subject matter into a clear, professional, and emotionally resonant narrative. By leveraging both the technical specifications of the Electron heritage and the urgency of modern national security needs, I created a piece that positions HASTE as an essential game-changer in the aerospace sector.
